The Ivy House

The Ivy House is one of the oldest buildings in Tonbridge. Situated in the very heart of the town, close to the castle, the Ivy House boasts an attractive old tile-hung building which dates back to the 15th Century. Internally there are cosy drinking areas, and separate brass bar seating, and now we have more seating in our 'Boot Room', which is a cabin-like seating area with over-head heaters and an open fire.. The establishment features low ceilings, adorned with wooden beams, to help achieve our shabby-chic interior.

The Ivy House started life as a toll-house. It was known as the Elephant & Castle until becoming The Ivy House, and presumably acquired on account of the ivy which may have covered the building at one time.
